Life at Aurora Samoyeds has been quiet... Somewhere along the way, Chip earned his Grand Championship. Chase has some points toward his Grand Championship, but with the limited Samoyed competition in Alaska, we probably won't pursue the title.Instead of dog shows, we've been camping and hiking and generally having fun! Summer is slow to arrive in Alaska this year, but we are looking forward to more adventures!

Chase and Chip were tested for XL-PRA and RD/OSD. Both are eye diseases and can be detected with DNA tests. Both dogs' tests came back Normal, meaning they will never suffer from the disease and they will not pass the disease to any offspring.I also sent their annual eye exam reports to CERF and have updated their numbers.

Max, Chase, and Chip are in training for excursion sledding! We took out first training run with Lynn Hornbien and her experienced team. View the pictures!We are hoping the snow comes soon so we can try it again!

For the last several years, Paul and Linda of WolfPacks have been producing a calendar for Samoyed lovers. These calendars feature pictures of Samoyeds doing everything Samoyed... sledding, carting, hiking, herding, playing, and sleeping... And a few puppy pictures to tease you! The best part for me is that I know most of the dogs and some of the pictures are even ones I've taken!I just received the 2007 calendar... Paul and Linda have really outdone themselves this year! To get one for yourself, browse on over to their online store (they sell packs for dogs, too). Do it soon to ensure that you get a copy. A complete sell out before Christmas is not unprecedented!
